THREE SCENES FROM "THE WAGES OF SIN"

SCENE 1: THE GREAT DEPRESSION
Kaitlyn Bourne as Trixie Mahoney
John Dominick III as Mackie Furnace

New Year's Eve 1929, Brooklyn Bridge, a few hours after a fireworks display celebrating the end of the Roaring Twenties. A young flapper stands at the edge of the bridge, contemplating suicide. After cursing God out, she tries to muster the courage to take the big leap. Suddenly, a cop emerges from the shadows and offers her a bottle of whiskey. She thinks it's some kind of trap cause it's the middle of Prohibition and he's a cop. But he talks her into taking a swig. Little does she know, the whiskey's going to kill her. But not before the cop has coaxed her away from the edge and squeezed out her life story.

SCENE 2: A HONEYMOON SWEET
Ryan Allais as Figaro Falsetti
Ruston Ropac as Princess Ivana Bendova

The next day, a suite at the Plaza Hotel. An old Russian princess and her new boytoy husband, an Italian tenor and voice coach, discuss honeymoon plans. He wants to go to Argentina. She wants to stay in New York and work on her upcoming audition for a famous opera conductor. It's their first fight since they got married the day before. Trying to appease him, she suggests Paris. Realizing he can speed up his murderous plot, he agrees. They plan to meet at a pier in Hell's Kitchen before the ship's departure at midnight.

SCENE 3: I LOVE YOU
Quinto Ott as Blackbeard
Kayla Faccilongo as Salome

That same day, a few minutes before midnight, a pier in Hell's Kitchen. The Celeste is about to sail for Paris. Blackbeard, the Celeste's captain, and Salome, his first mate, are squabbling after Salome flirted with one of the passengers. Salome says she can't help herself. Blackbeard says he owns her. Salome tries to get him to say "I love you." It's a game they've played through the centuries. Turns out they're both minions of Satan cursed to sail the seven seas in search of sinners. This time however, for the very first time, Blackbeard gives it some thought.
